| This NPC just reared its ugly head...in someone else. I got an email from a friend who had NPC almost 2 years ago? How time flies. He introduced a sister in Christ who's going through the same thing we did, chemo, radiation, side effects, weight loss, ulcerations on the irradiated skin...etc. I'm truly saddened by this. I know it happens to the seemingly healthiest of all ppl, but it always saddens me. This radiation of the head and neck is probably one of the most insidious of treatments. I said probably because I only had chemo to compare. And the chemo for my first cancer doesn't even compare, since it was lighter than some, and I was much younger. My hair didn't even fall out completely (oh, how I wished I had been bald). Father God, be with your children who are suffering physically, because suffering affects us emotionally, and we can lose hope. Let us know that You're here with us, in a tangible way. Let us hold on to your promises: in this world you shall have tribulation. But don't lose heart, for I have overcome the world. | | |
| So, then there were two offers on this foreclosure property, one is ours, the other one ALL CASH. We bid up, and were signing and faxing papers back and forth with our realtor while both of us were busy at work, as if we were winning by a nose with the horse call ALL CASH: And Two P's in a Pod is running fast and furious...straining to bid a few dollars more... But ALL CASH is not quitting, he/she came back with more, trying to match Two P's.. It's down to the wire, they're nose to nose as they crossed the banker's finish line... The high speed photo showed Two P's ahead by $3000, but the Banker declared ALL CASH as the winner!!! So, the moral of the story is, no one can beat All CASH offers, no matter how hard one tries. We'll just have to pick ourselves up again, dust off our clothes, and start pounding the pavement again...in search of the elusive perfect house... | | |
| The perfect house continues to be elusive, like the snow leopard of the Himalayas. It's rumored to be out there, but rarely seen. The BBC team went to Himalayas and camped out for over 8 weeks to get the rare footage. We've been searching for the perfect house for us since October, 2008. We've driven around neighborhoods, combed through the MLS listing, searched the web, and basically drove ourselves and our agent (bless her soul) bonkers. She's helped us made 5 offers on houses...all rejected. There is NO recession in the South Bay. Buyers are poised like vultures, ready to swoop down on the prey: cash offers at full bid; overbidding the asking price;19 offers on this one property, which was finally sold for 50K over the asking price!!! We're left on the side walk, bruised and baffled by these vultures...where did they come from????? So we pick ourselves up, dust off the dirt, and continue the search for our perfect house. God willing, we'll find it, in time to host my birthday party in April...God willing. | | |

To all, a good year! Don't forget to stop and smell the roses during your busy day. Beauty is all around us, we just have to train our eyes to see it. | | |
